Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Seven Suspects after Violent Struggle while Executing Arrest Warrant on Wayne Street

 

At about 11:51 AM on Monday, December 29, 2014 officers from District B-2(Roxbury) along with officers from District B-3(Mattapan) and Special Operations, executed a Dorchester District Court warrant at 6 Wayne Street, Dorchester.

During the execution of the warrant, officers encountered the 19 year-old male suspect, Woobenson Morisset, in the rear stairwell of 6 Wayne Street. A violent struggle ensued between the officers and the suspect. While officers were attempting to control the suspect, numerous occupants from additional apartments in the building engaged in the struggle, against the officers. Officers reported they were kicked, punched and choked by numerous suspects.

Officers were able to place Woobenson Morisset under arrest. The additional suspects involved in the struggle, Lorcen Morisset,18, four female juveniles and one male juvenile were also arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer (Injuries), Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon to wit Shod Foot and Resisting Arrest.

Two officers were transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital for treatment of their injuries and later released.
