Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Costumed Culprit Apprehended after Armed Robbery of Dunkin Donuts in Back Bay

 

At about 9:16 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2014, an officer performing a paid detail was notified of an armed robbery in progress in the area of 153 Massachusetts Avenue (Dunkin Donuts) in the Back Bay area.

On arrival, witnesses informed officers that the suspects had fled the area and are travelling in a blue Toyota Corolla. Witnesses further stated that the suspect was armed with what they believed was a black firearm.  A description of the vehicle was broadcast and a short distance away officers observed the blue Toyota Corolla driven by a male and a female passenger in the area of 199 Mass Ave. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and subsequently removed both suspects  from the motor vehicle. Both suspects were positively identified

Upon further investigation, officers received additional information which revealed that the male suspect had thrown his gun, his wig, a sweater and hat out of his car window. After retracing the route, officers recovered a replica black handgun, a blue bag, a wig and a hat.

Arrested was Jose Novoa, 48, of Dorchester and Rochelle Graham, 43, of Holbrook. Both are charged with Armed Robbery of a Chain Store.
