Daily Dose of Great Police Work: One Arrested for Trespassing, Breaking and Entering in Roxbury

At about 1:54 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2014, officers in District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress at 56 Delle Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers observed a suspect fitting the description the caller had provided emerge from the rear of the above address.  The suspect stated to the officers that he works for Captain Kirk and that his friend lives in an apartment of the above address.  During a brief investigation, the officers spoke to a witness and determined he was not the person the suspect claimed lived in the apartment, nor was he expecting company.  The officers also observed a “No Trespassing” sign clearly posted at the entryway to the building, and the suspect had gained entry to the property by opening a closed gate.  The officers checked the rear of the building and noticed the screen to the bottom floor window was off its frame.  The suspect, 23-year-old Decosta Turner of Roxbury, was arrested for Trespassing and Attempted Breaking and Entering to a Residence in the Nighttime.
