Commissioner Evans and Chief Gross Meet with the Youth from MetroLacrosse

On Friday, February 21, 2014, Boston Police Commissioner Evans and Superintendent-in-Chief Gross met with students participating in the MetroLacrosse Program at Boston Police Headquarters. The MetroLacrosse Program was created in an effort to diminish the disparity between sports programs available to Boston’s inner-city youth as compared to their suburban counterparts. Established in 2000, MetroLacrosse prides itself on encouraging the success of its participants both on and off the field. While giving the students a tour of his office, Chief Gross took the time to reflect on our nation’s history. Said Chief Gross, “When you know your history, do not let anyone tell you that you cannot be what you want to be. Set your goals high and work to achieve them. It is up to you.”
