Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Four Juveniles Arrested for Armed Robbery in Dorchester

 

At about 11:10 PM on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, officers assigned to Youth Violence Strike force made an onsite arrest of four juveniles in the area of Savin Hill Avenue & Denny Street.

While on patrol, officers observed two males and two females walking on Savin Hill Avenue toward Playstead Road. The officers then observed a female standing approximately 15 to 20 feet away from the group near Savin Hill Ave. and Denny St. The officers observed that the female was looking at the four individuals and crying with a confused look on her face. The officers approached the female, and she informed them that the four individuals had just robbed her of her purse and cell phone at knife point. As the officers approached the group, three of the suspects ran away, and the officers, along with other assisting units from District C-11, gave chase. Officers were able to locate one female suspect walking back toward them and another hiding with a black folding knife in her hand under a vehicle in the area of 9 Playstead Road.  One male suspect was found hiding under a porch in the area of 10 Playstead Road.  Another officer was able to arrest the fourth suspect on-scene without incident. The victim’s cell phone and purse were both recovered.

A 15-year-old juvenile male from Mattapan, a 14-year-old juvenile female from Roslindale, a 15-year-old juvenile male from Roxbury, and a 16-year-old juvenile female from Boston were all arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
