Boston Police Superintendent-in-Chief William Gross made several appearances this Saint Patrick’s Day weekend. On Saturday, March 15, 2014, Chief Gross attended and participated in the Shamrock Shootout on Temple Street in West Roxbury. Approximately 700 kids participated in the annual neighborhood hockey event. Several other Boston Police officers coached and cheered on these children. Later that evening, Chief Gross also attended the St. Patrick’s Day dinner at the Irish Social Club where they honored many first responders. On Sunday, March 16, 2014, the Chief supervised police patrols in South Boston at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade (and even had time for a laugh with a fellow officer).
