In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 02, 2014, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force and City-Wide Drug Control Unit established surveillance in the area of 211 Geneva Avenue due to ongoing reports of after-hours parties and problems in the vicinity.

At about 1:35 AM, officers observed a suspect engaged in a number of verbal altercations outside of the above residence.  Officers also observed the suspect brandish a firearm, then conceal the weapon in the waistband of his pants.  Officers approached the suspect and a physical altercation ensued.  Officers seized a loaded Walther .380 firearm from the waistband of the suspect's pants, and when he could not produce a License to Carry, 37-year-old Dwayne Smith of Dorchester, was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer (3 counts), and Resisting Arrest.

Following the arrest, officers attempted to enter the above address and clear out the party.  Officers covering the rear observed an unknown person discard a loaded revolver out of a second floor window.  This revolver was recovered and processed by officers.
