Thank you to John L. Smith from the Las Vegas Review-Journal for his coverage of Boston Police Superintendent Robert Merner’s presentation at the International Conference on Transnational Organized Crime and Terrorism in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, April 13, 2014. During his presentation, Superintendent Merner credited the information-sharing efforts between multiple agencies on the local, state, and federal level for Boston’s success in assisting victims in last year’s tragic Marathon Bombing incident, then finding and capturing the suspects responsible four days later. “It was an amazing feat, and it wasn’t just law enforcement,” Merner said. “The volunteers at the marathon, the police officers, EMS, firefighters, the merchants, the cooperation from the businesses was amazing.”
