Child Safety Day at District D-14 in Brighton Leaves Everybody Smiling: On Sunday, May 18, 2014, Captain Wayne Lanchester and the officers of District D-14 in Brighton welcomed hundreds of children and their parents to the 16th Annual Child Safety Day held at the District D-14 station located at 301 Washington Street in Brighton. This year’s celebration which, in addition to face painting, food and tons of fun, was highlighted by some of the following events: Child Safety Seat instruction and installations, fingerprinting & photographing of the kids courtesy of Operation Code Blue which is run by the Association of Retired Boston Police Officers, a bicycle safety demo and rodeo, as well as, meet-n-greets and demonstrations by Boston EMS, Boston Fire and Boston Police. All in all, a great time was enjoyed by all. Kudos to all involved for making the 16th Annual Child Safety Day another huge success. Special thanks to McGruff the Crime Dog & Boston University mascot Rhett the Terrier for making the day extra special.
