Urban Shield Training Continues: Job well done to all of the police officers, firefighters and EMT’s from Boston and surrounding towns participating in the 3rd Annual Urban Shield Training exercise. By all accounts, today’s exercise went extremely well and was well received by all who participated. For those unfamiliar, Urban Shield is a 24 hour training exercise which simulates a large scale terrorist attack simultaneously targeting several locations in and around Boston. This year’s training involved first responders from Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Quincy, Revere, Somerville and Winthrop. The goal of the training is to test capabilities, enhance skills, increase interagency cooperation and instill confidence in all participating agencies.
