Great time had by all at the District C-11 Summer Safety Day & Bike Rodeo

Talk about a great time, Captain Sexton & the officers from District C-11 - including Officers Mike Keaney, Tahisha Skeen, Timmy Golden, Lenny Lilly, Dario Fancelli, Sgt. John Burns and civilians Tram Tran, Lieu Nguyen, and Catia Pina - certainly put on one heckuva time today and they'd like to thank all the parents and – of course – the kids who turned out for the District C-11 Summer Safety Day & Bike Rodeo which was held at the McKeon Post Parking Lot at 4 Hilltop Street in Dorchester. Every kid who showed up today had a blast and nobody left empty handed. In fact, in addition to learning lessons about bike safety, every kid who stopped by left with a free helmet, either a free hot dog or hamburger and a free t-shirt. As for smiles, there were plenty of them and although optional, every child we spotted had big one when the Bike Rodeo came to an end. When asked to assess the day, one parent offered the following, “What a great day. You can’t ask for much more than this. Free helmets, free food and the officers could not have been nicer. Thank you BPD!” Said Captain Richard Sexton, “It’s great to hear that the kids and their parents enjoyed the event because it was enjoyable for us as well. This is community policing at its best and I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank my officers for the great job they did in putting this together.”
