Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Juvenile and Recover Stolen Motor Vehicle in Dorchester

 

At about 8:33 PM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) made an onsite arrest in the area of High Street and Hancock Street in Dorchester.

While on patrol, officers were notified that a stolen vehicle had been seen in the area of Tovar Street and Bowdoin Street earlier in the day. The vehicle, along with the keys, had been stolen during a previous street robbery. As officers searched the area, they were able to locate the vehicle parked and unattended. While conducting surveillance of the car in an effort to identify the operator, officers observed a Hispanic male approach the unattended vehicle, unlock the door and enter the driver’s seat. Seeing this, officers promptly approached the car. Upon seeing the approaching officers, the suspect quickly jumped out of the driver’s seat and fled on foot. Following a brief foot chase, officers were able to place the suspect under arrest.

Officers arrested a 16 year old juvenile of Dorchester. The juvenile is charged with Delinquent to Wit: Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle, Buying, Receiving or Concealing Stolen Property, Operating a M/V Without a License Leaving the Scene of Property Damage.
