One Less Gun: Officers Recover Three Illegal Firearms and Arrest Two in Dorchester

At about 1:30 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2014, members of the Boston Police Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite arrest of two individuals for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the area of 442 Talbot Avenue in District C-11 (Dorchester).

While on patrol in the area of Talbot Avenue and Brent Street, officers observed two males pacing back and forth across the street in the area of the above address. As officers passed 442 Talbot Avenue, they observed one of the males recognize the police presence and abruptly crouch down in front of the car parked in the driveway. Officers then observed the second male run from the area of Brent Street back towards the rear of 442 Talbot Avenue. As officers approached the driveway, they heard a noise in the backyard and observed the second male holding onto the fence with his left hand and make a throwing motion with his right hand. Officers then heard an object strike something beyond the fence and observed the male jump back to the ground. Based on the suspicious actions of both suspects, officers detained the males as they conducted an inquiry.  Backup officers responded to the area behind the fence and retrieved a set of car keys from the ground.

Further investigation revealed three illegal firearms recovered from the motor vehicle parked in the driveway near 442 Talbot Ave: a loaded Hi-Point Model C9 9mm semi-automatic handgun, a loaded Hi-Point Model JHP .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, and a loaded Iver Johnson 5-Shot .32 caliber revolver.

Officers arrested 27-year-old William M. Scott and 25-year-old Montrez A. Holman, both of Dorchester, and charged them with multiple counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
