At about 9:13 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2014, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Beacon and Fairfield Streets.
Upon arrival, officers observed that one motor vehicle had collided with another vehicle in the intersection, rolled over, and struck two pedestrians later identified as 28-year-old John Lanzillotti and 27-year-old Jessica Campbell, both of Brookline. Lanzillotti was pronounced deceased on-scene, and Campbell was transported by Boston EMS to Brigham and Women’s Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The two occupants of the first vehicle were transported to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
