At about 12:20 AM on Friday, July 11, 2014, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) and District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a person stabbed in the area of Marginal Road and Washington Street in Downtown Boston.
An officer driving his cruiser in the area at the time of the 911 call and was flagged down by a group of victims as they were chased by the suspect. The officer was able to apprehend the suspect without further incident. Officers were informed that the suspect had stabbed one of the victims, then proceeded to chase the other four victims, stabbing one more victim before being apprehended by the police. Both victims were transported to Boston Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers were able to recover the knife used in the assault.
Officers arrested 35-year-old Tyler E. Brown of Boston and charged him with two counts of Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous of a Dangerous Weapon and three counts of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
