At about 6:57 PM on Monday, July 14, 2014, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 12 Harlow Street in Dorchester.
On arrival, officers observed a black motor vehicle matching the description of the vehicle that may be occupied by the armed suspect. As officers approached the vehicle in an effort to speak with the occupants, the passenger had his hands hiding in his lap as if he were attempting to conceal something. At this time, officers asked the individuals to exit the vehicle and, for officer safety, a pat frisk was conducted. The pat frisk yielded negative results. A motor vehicle inventory was conducted which led to the discovery of a Pietro Beretta model 92 FS-Cal .9 loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition. A query of the operator revealed that his license had been suspended.
Officers arrested 19-year-old Adilson Tavares of Mattapan and 25-year-old Latiek Kindle of Dorchester. Tavares is charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of Loaded Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a High Capacity Feeding Device.
