At about 9:15 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a domestic violence incident during which the suspect displayed a firearm in the area of Washington and Eldon Streets.
Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect banging on a car window and attempting to make contact with a female sitting in the driver’s seat. Due to the nature of the call, officers conducted a pat frisk of the suspect, and after finding no weapons, escorted the suspect away from the vehicle to further investigate the situation. Officers then spoke with the female victim who immediately advised the officers that the suspect had struck her with his hand and threatened her with a gun, then discarded the firearm in the backseat of the vehicle. Officers peered into the rear passenger compartment and observed part of a revolver wrapped in a torn sock in plain view on the floor of the vehicle. Officers recovered a loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson Model 10-5 revolver. The suspect could not produce a License to Carry.
Officers arrested 27-year-old Felix T. Cruz of Boston and charged him with Assault and Battery (209A), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
