Today, Thursday, July 17, 2014, Commissioner’s Commendations were awarded to District A-1 Officers Eric Byron and Christopher Steele: On June 15, 2014, Officers Byron and Steele responded to a radio call following an apparent kidnapping and motor vehicle pursuit originating in New Hampshire. Officers received information that the operator of the vehicle had fled on foot and had been discarding various items, including narcotics, while escaping. With this information, Officers Byron and Steele began their search and were able to locate the suspect in the area of North Station in Downtown Boston. A pat-frisk of the suspect allowed officers to recover a black semi-automatic firearm in the suspect’s waistband. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had caused a great deal of property damage across state lines. For their keen observations and dedication to keeping the community safe, we say thank you to Officers Byron & Steele.
