The great work of several police officers was recognized by the Boston Police Department today. Sergeant Jason Gilmore, along with Officers Joe Martinez, Claudio McKenzie, Brian Michaud, Stephen Paterneau, Wilson Quiles, Luis Rivera, and James McDonnell received Commissioner’s Commendations for their efforts in apprehending three suspects in two related breaking and entering incidents that occurred in early June on District E-5 (West Roxbury).
On the afternoon of June 13, 2014, after receiving a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress, these officers were successful in anticipating the suspects’ direction of flight, setting up a perimeter, and apprehending the felons. The officers subsequently recovered the stolen goods; hundreds of dollars, various pieces of valuable jewelry, a laptop computer, and other electronic devices belonging to the victims were found in the possession of the perpetrators. As this particular team of suspects appears to have been responsible for a large number of breaks on District E-5, the impact of these arrests and the ensuing reduction of burglaries have been noticeable. Nice work, officers!
