Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest One for Unarmed Robbery of an Elderly Female in Jamaica Plain

 

At about 9:44 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of McBride and South Streets. 

While en route to the above location, officers were notified that a male suspect had assaulted the elderly female victim, knocking her off of her bicycle as well as stealing her cell phone. On arrival officers observed a male matching the description of the suspect running behind English High School. Following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was placed under arrest. A pat frisk of the suspect allowed officers to recover the victim’s cell phone. 

The victim was treated for multiple lacerations to her face.  

Officers arrested 28-year-old Robert Christopher Baker of Livermore, CA and charged him with Unarmed Robbery and Assault and Battery (victim over 65 years old).
