Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Five Juveniles for Armed Robbery in Hyde Park

 

At about 4:58 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of Business Street and Reservation Road in Hyde Park.

On arrival, officers observed two young males fleeing the area on bicycles. As officers gave chase to the individuals, another male suspect dropped his bicycle and fled on foot towards Smith Road and Enneking Parkway. Officers were able to apprehend the three individuals who had fled as well as two additional suspects. Officers then spoke to one of the victims who stated that he was approached by one of the individuals who demanded his cell phone whilst waving a knife at the victim. Most of the victim’s possessions were recovered, but officers were unable to locate the suspect responsible for stealing the victim’s sneakers. 

Officers arrested five juvenile males with ages ranging from 12-15 years old, all are charged with Delinquent to Wit: Armed Robbery, Intent to Rob while Armed, and Assault and Battery (Injuries).
