At about 8:17AM, on Saturday, August 23, 2014, Boston Police Officers - assigned to the J’Ouvert Parade – heard and responded to the sound of gunshots in the area of Charlotte Street and Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester on District B-3 (Mattapan). Officers promptly located and observed a female victim in her early twenties suffering from what appeared to be life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to Boston Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Dawnn Jaffier, 26, of Boston.
Three individuals, observed running from the shooting scene, were detained and questioned in connection to the incident. Of the three, two were interviewed and released while a third individual, Keith Williams, 18, of Boston, was arrested and charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and the Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
