Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest One for Unarmed Robbery Following Pursuit in East Boston

 

At about 12:44 AM on Monday, September 15, 2014 officers from District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for an assault and battery in the area of 154 Bennington Street in East Boston.

On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that he had been approached by the three individuals riding on bicycles. As the individuals approached the victim, one of them formed his fingers in the shape of a gun at the victim and pointed it at the victim. The victim, fearing that the individuals may be armed, attempted to call police. At this time, the suspect jumped off the bicycle and punched the victim in the face. The individuals then fled on their bicycles. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to speak to the three individuals, who then fled in different directions upon seeing the victim and potentially being identified. Following a pursuit, officers were able to locate the suspect in the area of 202 London Street in East Boston.

Officers arrested 22-year-old Abdul Fofanah of Medford and charged him with Attempted Unarmed Robbery.
