BPD K-9 Officers Participate in Maritime Training Exercise

Keeping You Safe: Today, Monday, September 29, 2014, as part of a joint law enforcement training effort between federal and local law enforcement agencies, members of the Boston Police Department’s K-9 Unit participated in a training exercise aboard a United States Coast Guard vessel designed to better prepare both dogs and their handlers in the event of an incident or emergency in a maritime environment. Said one of the officers involved in the training, “Responding to real emergencies is something we practice and prepare for all the time and to be able to simulate an incident in a maritime environment like the one we had here today only helps and enhances our ability to respond effectively and efficiently when a real call comes in.”
