Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest One and Recover Illegal Narcotics in Roxbury

At about 10:18 AM on Friday, September 5, 2014 members of the District B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Unit made an onsite arrest and recovered illegal narcotics in the area of Oswald Street in Roxbury.

Officers assigned to the District B-2 Drug Control Unit were made aware of a package containing illegal narcotics by members of the Customs and Border Protection set for delivery to a residence in the above area. Officers recovered the package, containing yellow pills determined to be MDMA (Ecstasy), and ordered a controlled delivery. Surveillance was set in place and with assistance from a postal inspector, the parcel was delivered. At this time, the suspect opened the door and signed for the parcel. Officers approached the residence and explained why they were present. The suspect stated he could not see what he was signing because he did not have his glasses on. Officers entered the residence with the suspect’s consent. Officers spoke with the suspect who stated that he did not know what was in the package. While in the suspect’s residence, officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight. The suspect, appearing increasingly nervous, was placed under arrest. Officers seized 154 ecstasy pills at the scene. The residence was frozen pending a search warrant.

Officers arrested 21-year-old Reuben Jacobs of Boston and charged him with Possession with intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
