Making a Difference: Deputy Superintendent Nora Baston and Officer Michelle Maffeo were seen recently making friends and reading books to the first-graders at the Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy located 790 Columbia Road in Dorchester. Said Deputy Baston, “Yet another example of the men and women of the BPD reaching out to our city’s young people, building positive relationships, collaborating with our schools and letting the kids know that we’re here to help them, not hurt them.” As for the book of choice, according to our sources, our officers read Snowmen All Year and the kids - we’re told - loved every page of it.
