One Less Gun: Officers Arrest One, Recover Firearm After Shots Fired in Roxbury


At about 12:51 PM on Saturday October 17, 2015, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an onsite firearm arrest at 566 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain in relation to a shots fired call which occurred at 208 Hampden Street in Roxbury.  Officers learned that the suspect, later identified as Mauricio “Macho” Livingston, 21, of Hyde Park, had fired a gun inside of 208 Hampden Street after an argument and had fled the scene prior to their arrival.   No one was injured during the incident.  Officers utilized all available investigative resources and were able to locate the suspect hiding inside the Jamaica Plain address a short time later. The suspect was taken into custody without incident with the assistance of the SWAT Team.  Officers later recovered a loaded firearm from inside the apartment.

The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Firearm Discharged within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.

As of today, the Boston Police Department has taken 604 guns of the street which includes 67 firearms which have been turned in through the City's Buy Back Program.
