Keeping Boston Safe: Four Arrested and Two Firearms Recovered During Early Morning Search Warrant

At about 4:40 AM on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, members of the City Wide Drug Control Unit with the assistance of Boston Police SWAT executed a search warrant in the area of 33 Abbotsford Street in District B-2 (Roxbury).

Upon arrival with search warrant in hand, officers made entry into the residence. Officers were immediately met with violent resistance by several of the occupants and a struggle ensued. The primary target of the search warrant, 25-year-old James Hickey of Boston, was located attempting to escape from the residence.

Upon executing the search warrant, among other illegal items, officers were able to recover a loaded silver Smith & Wesson .38 Special firearm with a wooden handle and a loaded black Ruger .22 caliber long rifle.

Officers arrested Hickey and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Improper Storage of a Firearm, and Career Criminal (Level 3). Twenty-five-year-old Jonathan Sanchez of Boston was also arrested for the above offenses, as well as Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and being a Career Criminal (Level 1).

Twenty-six-year-old Miguel Perez of Boston was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D.

Twenty-two-year-old Anthony Sanchez of Boston was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.
