Update: Victim Identified in Death Investigation in the area of 239 Wood Avenue, Hyde Park; Suspect Arrested

 

At about 12:41 PM, on Saturday, October 24, 2015, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 239 Wood Avenue in Hyde Park. 

On arrival, officers located a male victim, later identified as Clive Francis, 49, of Mattapan, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, suffering life-threatening injuries, was transported to Brigham & Women’s Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

During the course of the investigation, officers were able to establish the identity of the suspect and confirmed that she was related to the victim. Officers also learned that the suspect may have fled the scene in a red Nissan Pathfinder. In an effort to enlist the public’s help in the department’s efforts to locate the vehicle, investigators issued several community alerts via the BPD’s official twitter account asking for any information relative to the vehicle and its whereabouts. 

Approximately five hours after the original call, members of the Boston Police Department’s Homicide and Special Investigation Units with help from the Peabody Police Department were able to locate and apprehend the suspect in Peabody. Yvonne Lewis, 36, of Hyde Park was arrested without incident. Lewis will be charged with Murder and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on Monday.
