Great Work Recognized: Officers from the B-2 Community Service Office Honored with Commendations

Officers assigned to the District B-2 (Roxbury) Community Service Office were recently honored with a Commissioner’s Commendation at a ceremony held at Boston Police Headquarters.  Over the summer, B-2 CSO members attended an average of 200 community meetings a month, took part in the Teen Police Academy, re-instituted the Boston Police Explorers Program, mentored 140 girls through the BNBL Program and conducted movie nights with local senior citizens.  The officers also deployed to nearly 40 events throughout the city in their B-2 Ice Cream & Hot Dog Trailer, giving out 450 gallons of ice cream, 5,550 hot dogs, 2,300 bags of chips, and countless bottles of water.   The officers of the B-2 CSO, led by Sergeant Silta, continue to find new and creative ways to interact with the public they serve – for their continued efforts, they are each awarded a Commissioner’s Commendation.
