City of Boston Traffic Advisory for Halloween, October 31, 2015

 

With several Halloween related special events taking place this weekend, the City of Boston is asking drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to follow the rules of the road and to travel on Boston’s local streets with caution and courtesy.

The following special events will result in traffic detours and/or temporary parking restrictions on Saturday, October 31.

The Halloween trick-or-treating celebration on Beacon Hill will require that the streets listed below are closed to traffic from 4:30 PM to 8 PM.

·         Pinckney Street, Joy Street to Charles Street

·         Mt. Vernon Street, Joy Street to Charles Street

·         Chestnut Street, Walnut Street to Charles Street

·         West Cedar Street, Revere Street to Chestnut Street.

The Costume Dash 5K will begin at Copley Square at 9 AM.  Runners will race down Boylston Street, turn left on Charles Street, turn around near Beacon Street and finish within the Boston Common.  Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Saturday 6 AM to 12 Noon parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

·         Boylston Street, both sides, from Dartmouth Street to Clarendon Street

The Washington Gateway Main Street Halloween Festival will take place on West Brookline Street, and will require that the street is closed to traffic from Washington Street to Shawmut Avenue from 12 Noon to 4 PM.  In addition, Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM parking restrictions will be in effect at this same location.

A Halloween event will take place on Chandler Street, South End, and will require that the street is closed to traffic from Columbus Avenue to Clarendon Avenue from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

A Halloween event will take place on Rutland Street, South End, and will require that the street is closed to traffic from Tremont Street to Shawmut Street from 5 PM to 8 PM.

A Halloween event will take place on Tyndale Street, Roslindale, and will require that the street is closed to traffic from Guernsey Street to Walworth Street from 6 PM top 8:30 PM.

A Halloween event will take place on Mendum Street, Roslindale, and will require the street to be closed to traffic from Fairview Street to Walter Street from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

The Clarendon Street Playground Hayride will begin at 12 Noon on Commonwealth Avenue.  Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Saturday 12 Noon to 8 PM parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.
