BPD in the News: Boston Police City Wide Bike Unit Embraces Community Policing and Reduces Crime

Check out this Boston Globe article written by Jan Ransom hailing the great work of the BPD City Wide Bicycle Unit. Since April of 2014, Police Commissioner William Evans has deployed the members of this elite unit to the troubled areas and “hotspots” of Boston neighborhoods, leading to a 5% drop in overall crime in Roxbury and a 15% drop in Dorchester and Mattapan so far in 2015.
