Media Availability: The 12th Annual MAWLE (Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement) Conference to be Held at Babson College in Wellesley

WHO: Wellesley Police Chief Terrence M. Cunningham, Babson College President Kerry Healey, and over 250 female law enforcement officers from agencies across the state.

WHAT: Every year the MAWLE conference provides comprehensive, in-depth training on current and emerging topics and issues impacting women working in the law enforcement field. This year’s conference will pay special attention to topics such as (1) the state of policing (2) bias and legitimacy (3) recruiting, retaining and promoting women in law enforcement (4) workshops on the opioid epidemic, and (5) stress reduction and suicide prevention for female police officers. Guest speakers will include: Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, Sheriff Michael G. Bellotti, Attorney General Maura Healey, Salem Police Chief Mary Butler, Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes and Springfield Police Commissioner John Barbieri.
