One Less Gun: Officers Arrest One, Recover Loaded Firearm while on Patrol in Jamaica Plain

At about 9:30 PM on Saturday November 14, 2015, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of 277 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain.  Officers were on directed patrol in the area in response to several recent incidents involving gang activity and gun violence.  Officers were on foot in the Bromley-Heath Housing Development when they observed a group of males congregated in a posted no trespassing area inside one of the buildings and approached to speak with them.  Officers frisked one of the men, Fray Silvestre, 18, of Dorchester, and recovered a loaded NEF Model R73 .32 caliber H&R Mag revolver from his waistband.  The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Trespassing.
