Today, Thursday, November 19, 2015, one of our officers was working a construction detail in the area of Ruggles and Dewitt Streets in Roxbury. As the officer directed traffic, a motorist unexpectedly pulled over and handed the officer a gift wrapped neatly in newspaper. The woman watched as the officer opened it, and inside was a hand-painted rock. The officer immediately noticed that she had spent a good deal of time making the piece of artwork. The woman shook the officer’s hand and said, “Thank you for what you do.” She told the officer she makes these gifts for police officers and firefighters because she is thankful. She then smiled and went on her way. The art is signed simply “Ms. Lee.”
Ms. Lee, we want to thank you for thanking us. This small gift clearly left a great impression on this officer, and you certainly made our day!
