BPD Special Investigations Unit Arrest Fake Lawyer Wanted in Connection to Fraudulent Larcenies

On Monday November 9, 2015, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) took a report of a larceny by fraud which led detectives from the Special Investigations Unit to open up a large scale investigation into David Koraca, 47, of Boston.   The victim stated that she had hired the suspect who had presented himself as a lawyer named David Corazza to represent her in a personal matter.  The suspect went on to provide absolutely no legal assistance and instead stole approximately $20,000 from the victim through various fraudulent transactions on her credit cards.  As detectives continued their investigation they discovered other victims who had also been taken advantage of by the suspect.  Investigators also learned that the suspect is not a lawyer even though he had an office established at 1 International Place under the name of the Law Offices of David Corazza, Esq.  An arrest warrant was issued and the suspect was placed in custody without incident at his office on Monday November 23, 2015.  Officers returned today with a search warrant for the office as they continue to acquire evidence in these cases and try to determine if there are more victims who have not yet come forward.  The suspect has been arraigned at Boston Municipal Court on Larceny charges.
