BPD in the Community: BPD Commissioner and Chief Apron-Up to Serve Boston's Homeless at TD Garden

Smiles, stuffing, turkey and a little gravy —just some of the things served at the 20th annual Table of Friends held on Tuesday November 24, 2015.  Commissioner Evans, Superintendent-In-Chief Gross and Mayor Walsh volunteered as guest servers to help feed the city's homeless men, women and children on TD Garden's arena floor. The event was created and hosted by TD Garden's philanthropic arm, Garden Neighborhood Charities. In addition to the warm meals, personal care items like socks, gloves and toothbrushes were also distributed. Garden Neighborhood Charities' aim is to assist the homeless' transition into independent life - as we enter a season that makes us reflect on all that we have to be grateful for, it's important to take care of those who could use a little more.
