Last Sunday, December 6, 2015, at the 144th Annual Boston Police Relief Association Ball approximately 60 members of the Boston Police Department received medals and awards for their heroic actions and dedication to serving the City of Boston during the past year. The event was made possible by a generous donation from the Boston Police Association. In addition to esteemed guests Mayor Martin Walsh and Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, hundreds of family members and friends of award recipients, Boston Police Command Staff, and local clergy congregated at the Boston Convention Center to honor these officers. The Master of Ceremonies Boston Herald columnist Joe Fitzgerald awarded the William J. Taylor Meritorious Service Award, the Schroeder Brothers Memorial Medal of Honor, the Walter Scott Medal, and the Department Medal of Honor to the deserving recipients. Special thanks to Richard Parry, President of the Boston Police Foundation for making this special night possible for our officers.
