Justice Served: Boston Police Arrest Mattapan Man for 2013 Homicide in the Area of 335 West 2nd Street, South Boston

Today, December 4, 2015, Officers assigned to the Boston Police Fugitive Unit along with Homicide Investigators arrested Jonathan Matos, 26 of Mattapan after a Suffolk County Grand Jury Indicted him for the murder of 18-year-old Jonathan Reyes.

On January 7, 2013, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 335 West 2nd Street, South Boston. On arrival they located the victim outside, later identified as Jonathan Reyes, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Reyes was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

“I hope this arrest brings some level of comfort to the Reyes family. This should serve as a reminder that the Boston Police never stop investigating until justice is served, said Commissioner Evans. “I want to acknowledge the great work of the homicide and fugitive units for their dogged determination and efforts in this case.”

Matos will be arraigned Monday in Superior Court.
