BPD Officer Gives New Meaning to the Phrase ‘Giving One the Shirt Off His Back’ or - in this case - a BPD Jacket

Boston Police Superintendent Robert Merner shares a photo with New England Patriots Wide Receiver Julian Edelman

BPD Officer Gives New Meaning to the Phrase ‘Giving One the Shirt Off  His Back’: Shortly after arriving for today’s Patriots Super Bowl Victory Parade, Patriots Wide Receiver – Julian Edelman - realized in a hurry that he was under dressed and ill-prepared for the cold elements greeting all those attending today’s parade.  Fearful that the Pats’ star wide receiver might catch a chill or, worse still, a cold given his propensity and proven ability for catching everything thrown his way, as witnessed by his 9 catch for 109 yards & 1 TD performance in Super Bowl XLIX, a member of Boston’s Finest kindly approached the Pats wide out and generously offered up one of his spare BPD jackets. Edelman – as you can well imagine - gladly and enthusiastically accepted the BPD jacket thrown his way. So - if you were wondering how Julian Edelman found himself wearing a BPD jacket at today’s parade, now you know the story of how it came to pass.
