Yesterday, Thursday, February 5, 2015, the Boston Police Department celebrated the retirement of one of its longest active civilians, Roberta Canto. Ms. Canto began her career with the BPD in 1969 in the Records and ID Unit. She then transitioned to the Field Reports Unit where she later became the supervisor. In 2011, Ms. Canto was promoted to a position in the Bureau of Investigative Service overseeing Uniform Crime Reporting. After 45 years of service to the City of Boston, Ms. Canto will be greatly missed. Congratulations on your retirement, Roberta!
