Commissioner Evans Addresses Boston College’s Emerging Leaders

Commissioner Evans Addresses Boston College’s Emerging Leaders:  Tonight, Tuesday, March 10, 2015, Commissioner William Evans, the leader of the Boston Police Department, spoke to a group of future or aspiring leaders at Boston College. The school’s Emerging Leader Program, which was created in 1988, is designed to inspire members of the Boston College community to take a more active and involved role in the betterment and development of their respective communities.  Commissioner Evans talked about his experiences as a leader during Occupy Boston and the Boston Marathon. But, when asked to discuss what makes a good leader, Commissioner Evans offered: “You have to respect your people and treat them right. If you respect, care about and stand up for your people, they’ll do the same for you and good things will follow.”
