Boston Police Superintendent Robert Merner Accepts Command Staff Position with Seattle Police Department:  Today, March 11, 2015, Superintendent Robert Merner, a 30 year veteran of the Boston Police Department, was introduced and named Assistant Chief of Police by Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole. The official announcement was made earlier today at a press conference in Seattle. Robert Merner, who headed up the Bureau of Investigative Services in Boston will assume a similar job in Seattle. Said Commissioner William Evans, “When you have talented and dependable people working on your team, you can’t be surprised when other suitors or agencies come calling and that’s certainly the case with Superintendent Robert Merner. His reputation and work ethic are well established and there’s no doubt in my mind that our loss will be Seattle’s gain and Superintendent Merner will be a tremendous asset and addition to the Seattle Police Department.”
