Quick Response & Successful Search Enables BPD Officers to Locate & Arrest Suspect Wanted for Robbing a Food Delivery Driver in Hyde Park: At about 1:19pm, on Friday, March 13, 2015, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of 36 Ashville Road in Hyde Park. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim, a food delivery driver, who stated that he was making a food delivery to 700 Beechmont Street when two suspects approached him and robbed him of money and the food he was delivering. According to the victim, one of the suspects threatened him with a firearm. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspects over the police radio. 

In short time, officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description of one of the suspects. When officers approached the suspect and asked where he was headed, the suspect stated he was on his way to meet up with a girlfriend. When asked where she lived, the suspect was unable to furnish an address. For identification purposes, the suspect was returned to the scene of the crime where the victim was waiting to confirm the suspect’s identity. Upon seeing the suspect, the victim stated, “That’s him.”

 Officers arrested Wayne Mitchell, 19, of Medford and charged him with Armed Robbery.
