Making a Difference: BPD Participates in Peace Rally Held for National Youth Violence Prevention Week

On Thursday, March 26, 2015, members of the Boston Police Department took part in the “Youth Standing Strong Against Violence” peace rally at the Reggie Lewis Center, the culmination of Boston’s National Youth Violence Prevention Week. Children of all ages attended this event, one of many held this past week aimed at giving Boston kids an alternative to the “street” life. During last night’s rally, awards were distributed for the winners of the anti-violence-themed poetry, poster, and hip-hop contest. Many of the prizes were donated by the Boston Police Athletic/Activities League (PAL) and included over $2,000 worth of gift cards and Red Sox tickets for raffle winners.
