Tomorrow on Saturday April 18th at an elite field of Olympic and IAAF World Championship medalists and returning champions will be on full display at this year's 2015 BAA 5K. The 9,000 entrants will start and finish the 3.1-mile course at the Boston Common on Charles Street.
The 3.1-mile course starts and finishes at the Boston Common on Charles Street. The race will take participants down Boylston Street and across the Boston Marathon finish line. As the race begins on Charles Street, it proceeds left on Beacon Street. Runners then take a left on Arlington Street and a right onto Newbury Street. At Berkeley Street, runners take a right and then a left onto Commonwealth Avenue. At Charlesgate, runners will turn around and follow the Boston Marathon course, taking a right on Hereford Street and then a left on Boylston Street and passing over the Boston Marathon finish line before continuing down Boylston Street and taking a left onto Charles Street for the finish.
Traffic is expected to be impacted along the route and surrounding areas. Travelers are encouraged to leave extra time, seek alternate routes or utilize public transportation.
