Upon seeing the car, officers noted that there were three individuals inside the car. As officers approached the car, the car took off.  Officers gave chase and followed the suspect’s vehicle until it came to an abrupt stop in the area of 27 Merola Park.  With the car stopped, officers observed the operator and front passenger quickly exit the vehicle and take off running.  Officers were able to chase down and subdue both suspects.

The operator, Ray Roe, 22, of Boston, was arrested and charged with Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Operating on a Suspended License, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest and Leaving the Scene after Causing Property Damage.

The front passenger, Darren Gillespie, 19, of Boston, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Armed Career Criminal.

The third occupant of the vehicle, Laraysha Robinson, 20, of Boston, was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest.

During the pursuit of the suspect’s vehicle, officers received information indicating that the front passenger was seen throwing a firearm out the window of the vehicle in the area of 1257 Blue Hill Avenue.  Officers responded to the area  and were able to quickly locate and recover a Ruger .22 Caliber LR Semi Automatic Pistol from in front of the Morningstar Baptist Church.
