Reflecting on the 119th Running of the Boston Marathon: Commissioner Evans Commends Boston's Finest

Reflecting on the 119th Running of the Boston Marathon: The men and women of the Boston Police Department are always proud to play a role as it pertains to protecting and serving the greatest marathon in the world. When runners entered the city of Boston, Boston’s Finest – decked out in their lime green rain gear - were there to safeguard and support them every step of the way. From Cleveland Circle to Kenmore Square to the finish line on Boylston Street, BPD officers were out in full force and Boston’s top cop appreciated all the hard work. Said Commissioner William Evans: “I want to thank my officers for their professionalism and poise at this year’s Boston Marathon. The weather was cold and the day long but – once again – the men and women of the Boston Police Department proved equal to the task and I thank them for making our department and city proud.”
