Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

This morning, Friday, April 24, 2015, the Florida A&M Rattlers and North Carolina Central Eagles baseball teams joined members of the Boston Police Department and the Boston community for a meet-and-greet at Jim Rice Field in Roxbury. These two southern teams are set to face off at Fenway Park tomorrow in a battle for first place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Today, BPD Superintendent-in-Chief William Gross had the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch with City Councilor Tito Jackson, and he hurled it in there for a high, fast strike!  Tomorrow’s game at Fenway is at 2:00 PM and is part of an effort by the Boston Red Sox organization to showcase the HBCU (historically black colleges and universities) teams in the greater Boston area.
