Great Work Recognized: BPD Civilian Employee Retires After 46 Years Of Service

At about 12:00 PM on Thursday April 30, 2015, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) gathered to honor Karen Collins as she prepared for a well earned retirement after 46 years of dedicated service to the Boston Police Department and the City of Boston.  Commissioner William Evans and District D-4 Captain Paul Ivens were on hand as officers gathered to pass along their gratitude and well wishes.  We hope that Karen puts as much effort into enjoying her retirement as she did working all these years with us here in the department.  Karen stated, "I'm going to miss the work but I'm going to miss the people more."
